JO & JR Wicking Trust (ANZ Trustees) – Community Exercise Project

3 years, commencing March 2008– tenable in Victoria. $150k per year ($450k).

Criteria:

Calling for applications from suitable organisations in Victoria to conduct a 'community based exercise research project' to reduce risk factors in older Australians with increased fracture risk.

The aim of the project is to determine the effectiveness of community-based exercise programs assessing the specific effects of exercise on risk factors for fracture. The project should include assessment of the optimal type & frequency & volume of exercise that is achievable to reduce bone loss and prevent fracture in the community.

- Projects that are sustainable and collaborative will be viewed favourably.
- A project that provides the opportunity for a project officer to complete a PhD would also be viewed favourably.
- Projects must have strict evaluation criteria, with measurable outcomes.
- A 3 year plan must be submitted, including budget.
