OA / ANZBMS Scholarships

Both of these scholarships have an application deadline of 8 Feb 2008.

1. The Myer Foundation Scholarship

OA/ANZBMS, national, $23k/year

This is a new award to support a PhD Scholar for two years.
Criteria - Applications should address one or more of the following areas of bone research:

- Process of bone architecture/bone turnover & remodeling
- Vitamin D deficiency
- Spinal osteoporosis in post-menopausal women
- Effects of high-impact exercise on bone
- Falls prevention
Or areas related to the above that addresses a significant gap in bone research

2. Trustco – Fred P Archer Charitable Trust: ‘Strong bones research scholarship’

OA/ANZBMS, tenable in WA, $23k

This is a general scholarship for 1 year only. However, every effort will be made to attract further funding support for the successful applicant.
Calling for suitable applications from WA residents.
A general scholarship award for medical/scientific resesarch in the area of bone metabolism - results of which may eventually help to address strategies for better prevention & management of OP and fractures.
