DEAR COLLEAGUES,
It is my pleasure to invite you to join us at the 2005 Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society, to be held at the Burswood International Resort, Perth, Western Australia, 7th - 9th September 2005. Regardless of whether you are a researcher, practitioner, policy maker or student, this meeting provides an important opportunity for you to keep abreast of the latest findings and developments in both clinical and basic bone and mineral research.
The Program Organising Committee is preparing a diverse program with contributions from internationally renowned experts from across the field. As the meeting this year overlaps in time with the Endocrine Society ASM, also located in Perth, shared sessions have been planned covering topics of mutual interest. A preliminary outline of the program is presented on following pages. Please monitor our website as time progresses for updates as details are finalised.
The 2005 meeting will be located at the Burswood International Resort, 5 minutes from the Perth CBD, on the banks of the Swan River. Set in 100 hectares of landscaped garden and parklands with picturesque views of the river and city skyline and excellent facilities, this resort provides an ideal venue to meet or relax with friends and colleagues.
Your contribution to the meeting is critical to its success. We strongly encourage you to submit an abstract and present your work and to participate in the meeting by asking questions, viewing posters and contributing to the lively discussion that characterises our Meeting.
Abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings that will be available to all registrants and members of the Society. Travel grants and awards will be offered to facilitate attendance and recognise achievement by young investigators.
We wish to thank our sponsors and exhibitors for their support and participation in the meeting and encourage you to visit their displays.
Looking forward to seeing you in Perth in September.
Kathy Briffa
