ANZBMS
is a professional medical / scientific society established in 1989
to bring together clinical and experimental
scientists and physicians actively involved in the study of bone and
mineral metabolism in Australia and New Zealand
Mission
The mission of the ANZBMS is to be the
premier Australasian society in the
field of bone and mineral metabolism
through promoting excellence in bone
and mineral research, fostering the
integration of clinical and basic science,
and facilitating the translation of
our science to health care and clinical
practice.
Key objectives to achieve these goals
include the nurturing and development
of the future generations of basic and
clinical scientists, and the dissemination
of new knowledge in bone and mineral
metabolism through our Annual Scientific
Meeting. The ANZBMS will be proactive
in shaping research and health policies
based on scientific advances in our
field.
Aims & Goals
The aims and goals of the Society are:
- To act as the principal professional
body for scientists and clinicians involved in research and management
of patients in the field of metabolic bone disease and mineral metabolism
in Australia and New Zealand.
-
To act as the premier forum for the presentation of research and
debate about clinical and metabolic bone disease in Australia and
New Zealand.
- To advance the education of clinicians,
allied health professionals and the public in the nature of and management
of diseases impacting upon the skeleton.
Strategic Plan
The 2010-2013 ANZBMS Strategic Objectives outlined in the plan were developed
as a result of an on-going review of the strategic objectives by ANZBMS during
2009-10. Specific strategies for each objective are detailed, along with
potential implementation mechanisms. They will be evaluated for feasibility
and further
developed or changed as needed over time.
